Provider Spotlight: Dr. Ronald Park
NCHS would like to thank our wonderful providers for their service within our organization. We are united in our mission to deliver quality healthcare to North County. While we value all of our providers, each month we would like to feature one standout provider who went above and beyond their duties to help our patients and community.
Dr. Ronald Park, our Provider Spotlight for July, recently joined the team at Mission Mesa Pediatrics. His energy and outgoing personality are just a few of his outstanding qualities. We had a few moments to sit down with Dr. Park to ask him a few questions about his career and why he chose to become a part of NCHS.
You’re pretty new to NCHS, what do you like the most about working here?
The thing I like most about working at NCHS is the new building at Mission Mesa Pediatrics. It is a modern state-of-the-art facility with a separate entrance for sick patients. I feel privileged to work in such a beautiful facility with such a great team of doctors, nurses and medical assistants.
Why did you choose to become a pediatrician?
I chose to be a pediatrician in my 3rd year of medical school. I was rotating through pediatrics and found that I really enjoyed taking care of children. It seemed like a fun way to spend the day. I was planning on continuing to specialize in genetic research with children but my backup plan was to practice general pediatrics, and here we are. I love my life.
What has been one of your greatest moments in healthcare?
One of my greatest moments in healthcare was in my 4th year of medical school when I went to Costa Rica. While surfing a local kid got a cut on his forehead from the skeg of his surfboard. I stitched him up with lidocaine and prolene which I had brought just in case we got hurt, and he was very grateful.
