May is National Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health is an important part of achieving an overall healthy lifestyle: it impacts the way we think, feel, and act. Having a healthy mindset allows people to recognize their full potential. During the month of May we will be focusing on the importance of mental health, early detection signs, and where to find help.

  • Receiving professional help when needed
  • Staying physically active

  • Getting enough sleep

Early Detection Signs

  • Pulling away from people and normal activities
  • Low energy
  • Mood swings
  • Smoking or using drugs and alcohol more frequently
  • Feeling like nothing matters
  • Having persistent thoughts and memories you can’t get out of your head
  • Harming yourself or others
  • Inability to perform daily tasks
