Healthier Halloween Snacks

During Halloween, candy is usually front-and-center, but there are plenty of ways to make healthy foods seasonal and fun!  Here are a few snacks to help you get into the the holiday spirit the healthier way.


Apple Fangs

Apple Slice Fangs (makes 4 sets)

  • 1 Gala or Honeycrisp apple
  • 24 miniature marshmallows
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter

Cut four of the marshmallows in half at a diagonal to form the ‘fangs’ and set aside.

Slice the apple into eight evenly sized slices (if you’re feeling really creative, carve top lip curves into four of the slices.)

Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on one side of each of the apple slices, arrange the marshmallows to form the ‘teeth’ on four of the ‘bottom lip’ slices and gently top with the remaining four.


Spider Cracker Snack


Spider Crackers

  • Ritz Crackers
  • Pretzel Sticks
  • Peanut butter or cream cheese
  • raisins

start with two crackers and spread either peanut butter or cream cheese in-between them.

Take a few pretzel sticks and insert them into the sides as legs.

Use a small amount of the filling you choose to act as glue for the raisin eyes and you’re done!


Clementine Pumpkins and Banana  Boos boos

Clementine Pumpkins

  • Clementines
  • Celery chopped as stems

Peel your clementines and place the celery stem in the center.

Banana Boos

  • Bananas
  • Chocolate chips (or raisins/cheerios)

Peel you bananas and cut them in half

Press your chocolate chips into the banana for their eyes and mouth.
