5 Fun Fall Activities for Californians!

It can be challenging to find ways to embrace the fall season when you live in Southern California. The weather is warmer and there aren’t as many leaves changing, but that doesn’t mean that our families can’t enjoy fall traditions too! Let’s talk about a few fun fall activities that us Californians can enjoy.

Apple Picking

During the months of September and October, most apple orchards are open for picking and carry several different apple varieties. Depending on the orchard, you can sample the apples as you pick to help ensure you’re getting the perfect one.

Explore fall colors

It can be heard to find fall foliage in California, but if you know where to look you can discover an amazing autumn show. Some of the best locations for color changes are areas that contain deciduous trees and shrubs. Here in North County San Diego, Julian (a charming old mining town) is a great place for leaf peeping and of course pie!

Fall Crafts

Celebrate the beauty of fall with seasonal crafts & décor. Embrace your family’s creativity with apple stamping or leaf painting.  Nothing says hello fall like a DIY autumn wreath on you door!

Head to a local pumpkin patch

Pumpkin patches often have tons of seasonal activities and events that are fun for the entire family.  Enjoy strolling the pumpkin patch with a mug of hot apple cider or taking the kiddos on a fun hay ride.

Make sure to check out your local pumpkin patch’s event calendar for freebie days!
