M.D., F.A.A.P.

"Being a pediatrician is the most effective way to help keep kids healthy."
Edward Curley, M.D. joined North County Health Services at Mission Mesa Pediatrics in early 2003. He graduated college Summa Cum Laude from University of California San Diego where he also completed his medical education in 1999. While earning his medical degree, he published his research on reducing child anxiety. Dr. Curley completed his internship and residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in 2002. He is member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association and is board certified in pediatrics.
Dr. Curley decided to go into pediatrics during his adolescent years. Today, he believes that children have the right to grow up healthy, in a happy and safe environment. "Reaching a child on his/her own level fosters a nurturing doctor-patient relationship," says Dr. Curley. "A child's visit to the doctor's office should be calm; A friendly and thorough visit does not have to cause a child anxiety," he concludes. His interest in pediatrics led him to conduct a study to learn about reducing a child's anxiety in the doctor's office.
Dr. Curley grew up in San Diego and lives in Escondido with his wife who is a teacher. They enjoy spending time with family and traveling. Dr. Curley is fluent in English and Spanish.
