
General Requirements
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) we have a strong commitment to customer service and meeting federal regulations, therefore, our employment offers are contingent upon satisfactory completion of the following:
- Ability to participate in Medicare, Medi-Cal or other State or Federal health care programs. Office of Inspector General (OIG), "List of Excluded Individuals and Entities" (LEIE), GSA "List of Excluded Persons Lists" (EPLS), and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible List are checked to ensure candidates are not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other federal or state health care programs.
- Background checks include references, verification of education and licensure, Social Security number trace, criminal search, and sex offender search. Credit Reports may be required for fiscal positions. Finger print scans may be required for counseling services positions.
- Pre-Employment Screening. Candidates are tested for tuberculosis and checked to ensure ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. North County Health Services clinicians provide the screening at no cost to the candidate.
- Drug and Alcohol Testing. North County Health Services is a Drug Free Workplace.
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Candidates must provide documents verifying identification and eligibility to work in the United States (Form I-9).
- Valid Driving License and Current Automobile Insurance. Candidates offered positions which may require driving an NCHS vehicle or their own vehicle when working on behalf of NCHS must provide proof of a valid drivers license and current automobile insurance as required by California. Employees are required to provide proof monthly for mileage reimbursement.
