NCHS was incorporated as a private non-profit health care organization in 1973. The mission of North County Health Services is to improve the health status of our diverse communities by providing quality healthcare that is comprehensive, affordable and culturally sensitive. In 2010, NCHS saw:

257,409-Medical and dental patient-visits per year.
27,619-Patients are children and adolescents.
6,007-Children who received vision and hearing screenings through outreach staff or health
educators.
11,533-Women & children are served by NCHS’ WIC Nutrition Program monthly.
3,280-Pediatric vision and hearing screenings were performed at licensed childcare centers by
NCHS staff.
538-Employees that are members of the NCHS staff team working at our health centers, WIC
centers, and administrative offices.
77-Staff clinicians. In addition to physicians, a team of certified nurse midwives, nurse
practicioners and physician assistants are employed.
12-Facilities where patients receive medical and dental services, including 1 Mobile Clinic.
100%-All NCHS physicians are board-certified/eligible.
83%-Staff retention rate.
16%-Of the $42.9 million annual budget comes from health education and outreach grants;
9% from self-paying patient fees; 4% comes from private insurance; 1% comes from
miscellaneous income; 51% from government insurance and the remaining 19% comes from
patient service programs and grants.
